The ATPCA Coach Training Program is designed for both practising coaches and tennis players who have had no prior experience at coaching.
To become qualified, you learn about the
latest coaching techniques, sports psychology and physiology.
There are specialists presenters for some requirements.
The ATPCA has set hundreds of tennis coaches
within Australia and overseas onto a successful full
time career path or towards part time opportunities.
Who you can coach
Only with the ATPCA Graduate LEVEL

from beginners up to mid range competition standard
players ("B" grade or N7 in the ITN system).
This is effectively a pre advanced course and is conducted
mostly on court. If proceeding to obtain
the Advanced LEVEL 2 qualification, you are trained
to coach players up to interdistrict competition standard or higher.
Your Profile
Graduate LEVEL 1 You
are (or have been) a mid range player - usually competition
or at least a reasonably strong social standard. You
are a person who enjoys teaching and the company of
people and developing the skills of children particularly.
You would like to learn more yourself and become accredited
so as to coach proficiently either as a professional
“hobby”, or part time and be suitably qualified
to be considered for employment by Schools and Councils.
Advanced LEVEL 2 You
are (or have been) a quite strong player -around the
“A” Grade level. Having already obtained
the competencies above, you are the type of person who
seeks the ultimate satisfaction in coaching by including
very high standard athletes amongst your clients and
you could be sought after to coach in resorts world
wide.
Do i need to find a Mentor coach?
No. The ATPCA will provide you with access
to various qualified coaches with whom you can obtain
coaching practice (experience). You can rotate between
them or stay with one. For Distance Education, the Agent
in your State becomes your Mentor to view and assess
your videos.
